Writing a motivational speech is very different from crafting the other types of speeches as it takes a lot more time as well attention and focus. But nevertheless, if you are a person who wants to give a motivational speech then this is not a factor that should be pulling you back. The steps that I have given below will show you how to write a motivational speech and will get you a step close to giving that speech to people in a way that it changes their lives for good. Go through these tips and you will not fail in giving your motivational speech.
A. You cannot give a motivational speech on whim and so you need to go to and listen to several motivational speeches to get inspiration. Remember that you shouldn’t cheat, but instead try to get a general idea on how the motivational speaker integrates stories and events into their speech. Other than that, pay attention to the way they speak, their body language and other such things. Also look closely at how the audience is reacting as this will tell you if the speech is working or not.
B. Choose a topic which is important to you. Remember that you cannot just give a motivational speech on any topic otherwise it is going to be just a speech and there is going to be nothing motivational about it. No matter what the theme, remember to select a topic which is emotional and sentimental to you so that the audience can get the same vibe.
C. Once you have decided on the topic, create an outline. An outline only has points and not whole sentences so remember to make it in your own way and don’t rush it as this will not help at all. An outline needs to have an introduction where you introduce yourself, a main body with the points that you want to motivate the audience about and the conclusion or the last paragraph where you want to leave you final impression.
D. Remember the goal of the motivational speech is to motivate people and so you need to include real life stories, experiences and other such factors in your speech. Don’t fill your speech entirely with quotes but instead use a couple that is really captivating and influential.
E. A motivational speech cannot be good if it is all about seriousness. You need to think of a few ideas that are light and fun and which get the audience going. The kind of humor you include in the speech depends upon you but remember to include at least some of it so the audience won’t start thinking of your speech as a lecture.
